EDPS 31700 - Collaborative Leadership: Mentoring
Credit Hours: 3.00. The purpose of this course is to provide a theoretical and experiential overview of the basic elements of mentoring as a key aspect of effective collaborative leadership. The learning experience is designed to promote development of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required for competent mentorship. Emphasis on workplace and youth mentoring.

Learning Outcomes: 1. Differenitate among various types, purposes, roles of mentoring/mentors. 2. Identify the essential elements of effective mentoring relationships. 3. Examine and discuss the ethical considerations involved in mentoring. 4. Acquire knowledge regarding how issues of diversity interact with the process of mentoring. 5. Evaluate empirical findings associated with mentoring. 6. Consider various approaches to evaluating mentoring and the outcomes of mentoring programs.
