Associated Term: Fall 2015
Levels: Graduate, Professional, Undergraduate West Lafayette Campus Lecture Schedule Type Learning Outcomes: This seminar course focuses on today's privacy concerns and on privacy enhancing technologies developed to mitigate these concerns. We will cover some recent and important papers in topics such as anonymous communication networks, differential privacy, metadata privacy, privacy policies, censorship circumvention techniques, privacy for cryptocurrencies and payment networks, and genome privacy. Required Materials: The seminar course involves reading papers, which will be provided on the course webpage. No further course material such as a textbook is required. Technical Requirements: There are no formal requirements for the seminar. Nevertheless, this will be a slightly advanced seminar and we expect some background in cryptography, security, or privacy. In particular, it will be ideal if you have done a cryptography, security and privacy, or number theory course before. Motivated students who do not have the above mentioned background are requested to contact earlier. We can suggest you some reading before the course starts, so that you can be at par with other students during the seminar. View Catalog Entry
