Levels: Undergraduate, Graduate, Professional West Lafayette Campus Lecture Schedule Type Learning Outcomes: We will be reading a broad mixture of short stories, poems, plays, and literary fragments this semester, as well as investigating and evaluating a variety of critical approaches and writing practices. Part of what we will accomplish is to begin defining for ourselves, both collectively and individually, some set of criteria by which literary value judgments might be made. Additionally, and most importantly, we will explore how to clearly articulate our own ideas and arguments in a formal context while demonstrating a thorough grasp of the relevant rhetorical situation and its requirements.
