ASTR 56200 - Introduction To High Energy Astrophysics
Credit Hours: 3.00. (PHYS 56200) An overview of important physical processes in a variety of astronomical settings and of the experimental techniques employed in the field of high energy astrophysics. Covered in more detail are individual systems that include black holes, neutron stars, white dwarfs, supernova remnants, active galactic nuclei, clusters of galaxies, gamma-ray bursts, and cosmic rays, with special emphasis on several research frontiers.
