Fundamental concepts of biology and engineering involved in these applications are introduced. Regulation of blood flow under external thermal stimuli and its effect on heat transfer are discussed. Clinical applications of heat transfer, including cancer therapy and gene therapy. Prerequisite: first course in fluid or aerodynamics. Offered in alternate years. Typically offered Spring.
