PHYS 172 D is a first semester calculus-based physics course that is taught in an online format. The course meets the same requirements as PHYS 172 and can be taken instead of the face-to-face course. All of the course materials will be distributed online through Blackboard Learn website for the course. For the laboratory part of the course, students will purchase a kit which includes an interface box. They will complete the lab activities at home and enter the report online. Assistance for all aspects of the course, including labs, homework and problem solving, will be provided through synchronous and asynchronous discussion boards and chat rooms. The midterm and final exams will also be taken online.
