Understand both simple conversations on everyday topics and messages such as short news items, brief interviews, or advertisements, delivered at normal speed. 2. Maintain simple conversations on everyday topics as presented in class and in the textbook. 3. Read and understand ordinary original texts in Russian related to everyday activities. 4. Write a report, an article, or a letter about important life events, as discussed in class. 5. Expand their factual knowledge about everyday customs, key events, and prominent persons in Russian and Soviet culture with the goal to enhance their intercultural appreciation and communication skills. 6. Recognize, appreciate and compare similarities and differences between their own culture and Russian culture.
