Use field classification keys to perform habitat typing of forest communities. 2. Collect and analyze field vegetation data to describe forest composition and structure. 3. Identify soil, site, and disturbance characteristics that determine the distribution and abundance of plant and animal species. 4. Describe the responsibilities, duties, and challenges of working as a professional forester or wildlife biologist. 5. Evaluate wildlife abundance using a variety of field methods and understand the differences between population estimates and indices.
