Students will gain a broad overview of the cultural history of sexualities both in the West and globally from the pre-modern era to the contemporary period. They will grasp the way sexual and gender identities change over time and across space. They will analyze how sexual identity intersects with gender, race, and class. They will develop a theoretical understanding of the social construction of sexuality, sexual identities and transgender identities. |
