Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand Latin America's pre-colonial and colonial past and how its present has been shaped by that past. 2. Be able to identify the unique cultural, social and political development that has occurred in Latin America. 3. Be able to explain more fully concepts of race, ethnicity and ethnic relations as they relate to Latin America's past and present. 4. Be able to evaluate critically historical documents, both primary and secondary.
