ME 61200 - Continuum Mechanics
Credit Hours: 3.00. A unified and exact mathematical treatment of the mechanics of solids and fluids. Cartesian tensor algebra and calculus; stress tensor, principle stresses and invariants; material and spatial coordinates, deformation gradient, strain and stretch tensors; balance of mass, momentum, and energy; constitutive equations of elasticity, hyperelasticity, viscous fluids and viscoelasticity.
