Credit Hours: 1.00. A "walking tour" of a few topics in mathematics, conducted by a series of guest lecturers. Some talks focus on interesting areas of mathematics, such as chaos theory, fractals, or the mathematics of sending pictures over the Internet. Others focus on where people with degrees in mathematics or statistics work and what they do. This class is open to anyone with an interest in mathematics, regardless of major.
