Message digest algorithm construction. Digital cash. Quantum cryptography. N-key systems. Minimal and zero-knowledge systems. Protocol design and failure. Verification of algorithms. Key generation and management. Traffic analysis. VPN construction and operation. Politics, espionage, and law enforcement concerns. Offered every third semester. Prerequisite: CS 52600, 55500.
