Will familiarize students with the nature of the risks associated with radioactive waste and the history, regulations, and worldwide status for the safe storage of various types of radioactive waste. The sources, characteristics, and magnitudes of radioactive wastes are described, and the current and proposed engineered waste management systems are examined along with the analysis of their associated risks.
