Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand the defining features of all four classes of macromolecules (Nucleic acids, Proteins, Lipids and carbohydrates) in detail. 2. Understand enzyme kinetics and various classes of inhibitors. 3. Develop an understanding for various metabolic pathways including glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, the citric acid cycle, electron transport chain, oxidative phosphorylation, glycogen metabolism, glycogen metabolism at a cellular level in healthy and diseased patients. 4. Able to predict biochemical outcome in case of specific defect in a pathway. 5. Develop an in depth understanding of central foundations of biology at a molecular level.
