BME 56400 - Ethical Engineering Of Medical Technologies

Learning Outcomes: 1. Recognize and analyze personal and systemic ethical issues and challenges to ethical reasoning and social responsibility. 2. Engage in empathy building activities to enhance their abilities to understand and value the perspectives of other stakeholders. 3. Use a structured, iterative, and collaborative decision-making process that considers the perspectives of multiple stakeholders in optimizing a design decision when facing an engineering problem in design and development of medical devices or assistive technologies that are ethical and socially responsible.
