ENTM 50800 - Integrative Insect Taxonomy
Associated Term: Spring 2020
Learning Outcomes: 1. Demonstrate ability to sight-identify insects to family. 2. Implement field techniques for collecting insect specimens. 3. Demonstrate proper insect collection preparation and curation. 4. Demonstrate the principles of basic molecular methods. 5. Analyze molecular data. 6. Demonstrate the ability to speak with effectiveness while considering audience and purpose. 7. Prepare a mini-grant proposal and participate in a NSF-style proposal review panel. 8. Formulate and test hypotheses for class project. 9. Demonstrate use of the scientific method to identify problems. 10. Derive conclusions from hypothesis testing. 11. Demonstrate proficiency in their chosen discipline that incorporates knowledge, skills, technology, and professional conduct.
