ENTM 25300 - Insect Physiology And Biochemistry
Associated Term: Spring 2020
Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand (i) the structure and functions of insect cells, the major internal organ systems of insects, the insect integument, and homeostatic mechanisms; (ii) insect development and reproduction, and their endocrine control; and (iii) the neural mechanisms that underlie the interactions of insects with their environment and coordinated behavior. 2. Understand the physical and chemical principles underpinning animal physiology. 3. Understand the dependence of function on structure in physiology and biochemistry. 4. Acquire familiarity with commonly used experimental procedures for research in insect physiology and biochemistry.
