Learning Outcomes: 1. Describe the material behavior of deformable bodies when subjected to loads. 2. Create and use free-body diagrams to compute resultant support forces and moments. 3. Compute internal force and moment distributions. 4. Properly select and use materials based upon their mechanical properties. 5. Compute stresses, strains, deformation and displacements of basic structural components. 6. Predict structural integrity based on the calculations. 7.
