Learning Outcomes: 1. Be able to think and write critically about issues concerning developing countries in the world. 2. Acquire a better understanding of the meaning and consequences of social change currently taking place, both in the US, and around the world. 3. Learn the meanings of major concepts in sociology, and will get to consider the ramifications of our understanding of social phenomena by using the different models that have been developed to describe social reality. 4. Learn of social development within a global context that has developed historically. 5.
