Learning Outcomes: 1. Learn basic theoretical principles of mass spectrometry, with a focus on protein analysis. 2. Be knowledgeable in practical skills associated with mass spectral analysis of biological molecules, including interpretation, with a heavy emphasis on proteins. 3. Understand the basics of experimental design for the mass spectral analysis of proteins and other biological molecules. 4. Acquire an appreciation for current instrumentation and methods commonly used in protein mass spectrometry and the advantages and disadvantages of each. 5.
