AT 54200 - Aviation Fuels And Exhaust Emissions
Associated Term: Fall 2014
Learning Outcomes: 1. Evaluate the relationship of fuel chemistry, properties, and characteristics to the extent necessary to predict impact on performance. 2. Analyze and differentiate the steps in the refining process to determine the characteristics and costs of the various grades of aviation fuels. 3. Analyze fuel test results to predict engine performance utilizing this information. 4. Analyze and compare the exhaust emissions produced by current and new aviation fuels in relation to current and emerging air pollution regulations and policies. 5. Evaluate new fuels and fuel production processes to determine overall sustainability and projected costs under the European Union Emissions Tax Scheme. 6. Analyze the distribution requirements for new fuels in comparison with the existing infrastructure to determine the modifications or accommodations required for system-wide delivery and implementation.
