Prerequisites: HORT 10100, BTNY 11000, BTNY 12000 or BIOL 11000 or instructor consent. This course will offer students foundational information on the principles of planning, organizing, and managing greenhouse operations for bedding plant production. Students will learn about current cultural practices and challenges faced by the industry, as well as how environmental factors are monitored and controlled in production facilities. Hands-on activities will focus on integrated crop management practices for commercial greenhouse production. Case studies and discussions of relevant literature will help prepare students for positions in the green industry.
